On the 2nd March 2018, the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam approved a proposal by Vingroup, to create a new University in Vietnam, which will be called VinUniversity.
VinUniversity (“VinUni”) aims to be a world class university based on the highest international standards in research, teaching, and training for students both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with intimate and intensive learning environment for students, engagement of leading academics and scholars and a genuinely international presence, serving as a magnet for the most talented faculty and students from all over the world.
VinUni has strategic partnerships with some of the world’s leading universities: Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania. These universities are currently, and will continue to be, close partners in establishing three Colleges at VinUni: College of Business and Management, College of Engineering and Technology, and College of Health Sciences. The University is set to meet the highest standards by the world leading accrediting organizations such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) or Times Higher Education (THE).
VinUni’s Headquarters is located at Hanoi, and the University plans to recruit the first batch of students in 2020.
Campus
In the first period, VinUni will be built over an area of 23 hectares, with total investment of VND 5,000 billion. The initial project consists of the main campus building for classrooms, academic offices, laboratories, library, and other learning and collaboration spaces.
All the infrastructure and facilities meet the QS 5-star standards by the world’s leading accrediting organization, Quacquarelli Symonds. The landscape, architecture, and interior design will deliver the optimal learner-centered environment. Lecture halls and classrooms will be designed to enable a highly flexible and adaptable learning environment, suitable for lectures, interactive and collaborative learning models, and the most advanced teaching methods, such as team-based learning (TBL), project-based learning (PBL), action-based learning (ABL), and simulation-based learning (SBL).
